Should The State Pension Age Increase

The government is planning to raise the state pension age again.

For millions of us, that means missing out on precious years with our families, or struggling through work when we should be enjoying life.

We have a big decision to make together: should stopping the state pension age hike be a top campaign for all of us in 2026? Votes will close as soon as we hit 10,000 – so this is your chance to help set our shared priorities.

YES

NO

The state pension age is already rising to 68 but there are reports it could be hiked to 70. [2] It’s working people who will pay the price, not the super-rich or big corporations. If we don’t act, millions of us could be forced to work until we’re 70 or even older before getting our pensions.

Thousands of us have already spoken out about how unfair this is. Here’s what some Organise members are saying:

“People are struggling at 60 yrs never mind 67 and we should give the younger generation more jobs by lowering the age. We want to live a life before we die not forced to work most our lives. I want to enjoy my grandchildren while I’m younger and have more get up and go, not be struggling at 67 waiting for my pension.”

“I would like the retirement age set to 60. I’ve heard of many people just reaching retirement, or soon after, and having a stroke. There are many children coming up through college, studying for their dream job, only to find there are no jobs. If we could retire at a reasonable age of 60 then it would open the workforce to the new generation. It would also keep jobs from taking their toll on the elderly.”

If together we choose this as a priority, we’ll be ready to flood the Government with messages and make it politically impossible for them to ignore us.
