Each year your union represents your interests to improve our pay and conditions.
During the 2025/26 negotiations, the result in the pay award, which had been an important issue for members, and raised with the union by members. Was resolved early for the first time in a number of years.
Remembering that the delays in previous years until the resolution had been a major point of concern by members during those negotiations. Even though the union corresponded with members to keep them updated.

The GMB union 2026/27 NJC pay ballot for local government and school staff is officially open, running from 13 April 2026 to 22 May 2026.
It’s time to decide. Don’t sit it out. Take charge and vote by 22nd May and make your voice count. Accept or reject, the decision is yours.

Our claim is for:
1. An increase of at least £3,000 or 10% (whichever is greater) across all NJC spinal column points*
2. A minimum pay rate of £15 an hour for the NJC pay spine
