Levels of in-work poverty in the UK are rising. That means that just because you’re in work, doesn’t mean you earn enough to live a comfortable life.
NHS nurses should not be using foodbanks, working parents should not be skipping meals and workers shouldn’t have to hold down two jobs just to feed their families.
Raising the personal tax allowance wouldn’t solve in-work poverty on its own, but it would put hundreds of pounds back in the pockets of the lowest earners, immediately, without means-testing or bureaucracy. Can you sign this petition to demand an increase in our personal tax allowance now?
